the original “Surf” Club in Clear Lake, Iowa, which hosted Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, Big Bopper, and Dion and the Belmonts on the last night of their tour, before they all died tragically in a plane crash. Valens was 17, Holly 22, and Bopper was 28. Dion and Waylan Jennings opted to take the tour bus.
